Obituary of Maria Taveras

Maria Taveras, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on 2/3/2025. She was 84 years old.

Born in the Dominican Republic, Maria immigrated to the United States with dreams of a brighter future for her family. With unwavering determination and a tireless work ethic, she embraced the challenges of a new country, working tirelessly during the day and diligently taking care of her family during the evenings. Her strength and resilience served as a powerful example to her children, instilling in them the values of hard work, perseverance, and the importance of family.

She was fortunate enough to have lived a long life and see five healthy grandchildren brought into the world. Five grandchildren she was just as committed to, and focused on, as her own children were to her.

Ultimately she lived a full life, showered others with love, and received it back 10 fold.

Her memory will forever be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.

A viewing will be held on 2/12/2025 from 4pm-8pm at The Riverdale Funeral Home 5044 Broadway New York, NY 10034
